Garnet, a geological term for one of the major rock-forming minerals of the crust and upper mantle. Garnet crystal and pomegranate seed shape, color is very similar, so the name “garnet”. Garnet with good color and high clarity can be called gemstone. The name Garnet is derived from the Latin Granatum, meaning “like a seed”. The common garnet is red, but the variety of colors is very broad, covering almost the entire spectrum of colors.
